PMO Director – Leadership & Oversight Across Both Divisions

The PMO Director oversees both divisions and ensures alignment, strategy, and external representation.

  • Provides high-level strategic leadership for both governance and project execution.
  • Represents the PMO and GSR externally, engaging with university leadership, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Resolves cross-committee conflicts and ensures overall alignment across GSR.
  • Works directly with the Steering Committee, governance officers, and project managers to ensure efficiency.
  • Oversees risk mitigation, decision-making, and long-term planning for the conference.

External Division: Workstream Execution & Coordination

This division drives project execution, facilitates cross-committee collaboration, and ensures real-time problem-solving to keep GSR on track.

  • Deputy PMO Director 
    • Workstream Execution & Multi-Committee Coordination
    • Leads the Project Management Officers (PMOs) and oversees project execution.
    • Ensures multi-committee projects run smoothly by aligning tasks, timelines, and objectives.
    • Steps in for the PMO Director when needed.
    • Works closely with the internal performance & governance director to ensure both divisions operate together seamlessly

    • Workstream Owners & Execution Leads
    • Each PMO owns specific work streams, ensuring alignment and execution.
    • Works directly with committee leads to track progress, resolve bottlenecks, and manage interdependencies.
    • Specializes based on project type (e.g., logistics, scientific, marketing, sponsorships), but maintains flexibility to contribute across projects when needed.

Internal Division: Governance, Systems & Transparency

This division ensures that GSR functions cohesively as a structured system, tracking macro-level progress, maintaining efficient internal processes, and fostering transparency.

  • Internal Performance & governance Director
    • Strategic Oversight & System Management
    • Ensures GSR operates as a structured system, tracking internal progress, governance, and risk mitigation.
    • Works with the PMO Director and Deputy Director to ensure committees remain accountable to project deadlines and objectives.
    • Ensures transparency, documentation, and decision-making processes remain structured and effective.
  • Governance Officers
    • Internal Communication, Reporting, and Knowledge Management
    • Drafts weekly/monthly updates to keep all GSR members informed on key developments.
    • Ensures leadership has timely, concise reports without excessive overhead.
    • Manages Notion, ClickUp, and other internal tools, ensuring structured workflows and accessibility.
    • Collects and analyzes macro-level data on workstream progress and efficiency trends to provide insights for decision-making.
