Tech Committee

Oversee all digital platforms and technical infrastructure for GSR while fostering an environment for innovation and hands-on technical development.

Goals of the Technology Committee:

The Technology Committee is not just about maintaining digital platforms, it is a launchpad for ambitious technical projects. A significant part of the committee’s direction is shaped by students who propose and lead big, impactful projects. If approved, these projects become the committee’s focus, with GSR acting as a funding and empowering body that provides financial, logistical, and strategic support.

  • Independent GSR-supported initiatives (internal GSR innovation projects).
  • KFUPM Senior Design Course integration (official university-backed projects with funding exceeding 10,000 SAR).
  • Research-backed technical developments in collaboration with advisors and external partners

If you want to work on cutting-edge ideas—AI-driven tools, automation systems, robotics, AR/VR,
event-tech innovations—GSR is the place to make it happen.

Committee Roles:

Website Development Team
  • Primary Role: Design, develop, and maintain a responsive, user-friendly conference
    website. 
  • Key Features: Integration of essential tools such as registration, schedule, and paper
    submission systems.

UI/UX Team
  • Primary Role: Create engaging and intuitive interfaces across all digital platforms. 
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Ensure a seamless user experience through comprehensive user research and
      usability testing.
    • Continuously refine digital designs based on feedback and best practices.

Innovation & Technical Projects Team (Main Focus):
  • Primary Role: Lead long-term, structured technical projects, including the future
    development of event-tech innovations. 
  • Opportunities & Focus Areas:
    • Serve as a platform for KFUPM Senior Design projects, offering real-world,
      impactful solutions.
    • Explore ideas such as AI-driven tools, automation systems, interactive robotics,
      AR/VR applications, and other event-tech innovations.
    • Provide a hands-on environment where students can enhance their technical
      skills, secure official university support, and potentially receive significant
      funding for successful projects.
  • Invitation to Innovate:
    • Team members are encouraged to propose ideas and lead projects that advance
      GSR’s technical capabilities while gaining valuable experience
With the tech committee, the stars are no longer a limit, literally by all means. Working with such a wonderful team with blowing and creative minds on tasks such as designing the conference website, conference day technical support, and more and more tech staff has enriched my mind with essential skills such as planning, marketing, and most importantly, problem solving. With the Tech Committee, you will be more experienced than you think!

Being a member of the Tech committee has significantly enhanced my technical skills, from designing a responsive, user-friendly website to managing the smallest details that ensure the site's scalability and security.
