Financial Aid

Supporting The Next Generation of Researchers

At GSR, we recognize that attending conferences can be a significant financial commitment, especially for students. To help alleviate this burden and ensure that participation is accessible to all, we are pleased to offer financial aid packages for eligible participants.

Types of Aid:

  • Full Aid

The full aid package covers:

  • Visa Fees
  • Travel Expenses (round-trip airfare)
  • Accommodation
  • Conference Registration Fees
  • Partial Aid

Partial financial aid is to cover a percentage of the above-listed expenses except for the conference registration fees, to be covered fully. The exact amount will be determined based on the applicant’s needs and the available budget.

Eligibility Criteria

Financial aid is awarded based on a holistic review of several factors. While we encourage all interested participants to apply, the following criteria will be considered in making our decisions:

  1. Academic Standing

Preference will be given to applicants with a strong academic record that reflects their commitment to research and innovation.

2. Quality of Research Submitted

The strength and originality of the research abstract or paper submitted for presentation at the conference will play a critical role in our evaluation process. Priority will be given to groundbreaking research with potential impact.

3. Student Level

We encourage students from all levels to apply. However, preference may be given to younger students (undergraduate) as they have fewer opportunities to access conference funding compared to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

4. Previous Research Experience

Applicants with a track record of high-quality publications, prior conference presentations, and relevant academic contributions will be considered favorably.

5. References

Strong recommendations from academic or research mentors can significantly enhance an application by providing insight into the applicant’s potential and research capabilities.

6. Financial Need

While merit-based criteria are important, we also take financial need into account. Applicants facing significant financial barriers to attending the conference are encouraged to outline their circumstances.

Application Process

To apply for financial aid, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit your work to GSR by completing the Submission Form.
  2. Submit the Financial Aid Form.
  3. Provide all the required information and documents. (Mistakes in the form will cause a delay in the decision of granting the aid.)

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants will be notified of their aid status via Email.
